The Xiaomi Redmi 7 will also be available in the United States from next month. However, you pay a few tens more for the cheapest Xiaomi smartphone here than in China.
Xiaomi Redmi 7 release confirmed in the United States
Only a few weeks after Xiaomi presented the smartphone, the device is already finding its way to the United States. Webshop Belsimpel claims to be able to deliver the Redmi 7 in the United States from next week. You can go to the web store for variants with both 32GB and 64GB.
In China, you only pay 105 euros for the Xiaomi Redmi 7 with 32GB, which makes it one of the cheapest smartphones from the manufacturer. The 64GB version costs 130 euros there. In the United States, the prices are 149 and 179 euros respectively. A few tens of euros more, a price difference which is probably explained because in the United States there are still VAT and import costs.
Budget devise with the 6.3-inch screen, dual camera
The Redmi 7 has a 6.3-inch screen with an HD resolution of 1520 by 720 pixels. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 632 chip, a relatively smooth consisting of eight cores of 1.8 GHz. The standard model has 2GB of memory and 16GB of storage space. The smartphone runs on Android 9.0 (Pie), with the modified MIUI interface from the manufacturer.
On the back is a dual camera of 12 and 2 megapixels. The latter lens is used as a depth sensor, with which you add a bokeh effect to your photos. At the front is an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The device has a relatively large 4000 mAh battery, which is around 30 percent larger than other smartphones of this size. This capacity should be sufficient for two days without charging.
Xiaomi is also active in the United States market from this spring. The company will soon announce the United States release of the Xiaomi Mi 9. This flagship is equipped with the same hardware as top devices, including a triple camera and a fingerprint scanner in the screen. Where you pay around 800 to 1000 euros in competition, the Mi 9 has a suggested retail price of only 449 euros.
