‘Fitbit gives children the playground with colorful activity tracker’

Fitbit for childrenFitbit soon seems to release a new activity tracker, especially for children. After pictures of the Versa 2 have recently appeared, there are now also renders of the new Fitbit for children.

This is the new Fitbit for children

Fitbit is working on a successor to the Fitbit Ace released last year. This is a fitness tracker specifically aimed at young people and children. Now Fitbit seems to focus even more on the youngest consumer, with a new variant for children.

The TechnoBuffalo website has leaked the first images of the new Fitbit. These show that it may even be a whole new line, in addition to the already existing Ace. The tracker has a larger screen and a less tight design.

The band of the Fitbit Ace is very similar to the models that the company produces for adults, where the band of the new tracker looks more rounder and child-friendly.

The children’s fitness tracker comes in two colors: blue and pink. In addition, the larger screen appears to be monochrome and therefore only shows black and white tones. Further details are not yet known for the time being. It is plausible that the tracker, like the Ace, has a long battery life, can keep track of different activities and is (splash) watertight.

Fitbit Versa 2 also leaked

TechnoBuffalo also published the first renders of the new Fitbit Versa 2 a few days ago. This model is considered a direct competitor for the Apple Watch. It is not clear how the site managed to get images of both devices.

Last year, Fitbit released an interesting alternative to the Apple Watch with the Versa. The device was not as versatile as Apple’s smartwatch, but a lot more affordable and especially interesting for athletes. Read more in our Fitbit Versa review.

Fitbit recently also became prominent in the news because the payment service Fitbit Pay is now available in the Netherlands. From now on you can also use the device to pay contactlessly, by adding a debit card to the Fitbit app. However, that function will not be of such interest to carriers of the new children’s variant.
