Although the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro have now been unveiled, there is no trace of the cheap variant. That is why we have listed all the leaked Huawei P30 Lite data for you.
Huawei P30 Lite rumors collected
At a grand event in Paris this week Huawei presented its latest top devices, the P30, and the P30 Pro. The company also launched smart sunglasses and new smartwatches. One expected announcement, however, was nowhere to be seen: the Huawei P30 Lite. Despite the fact that many photos, specifications and more have leaked from the smartphone, Huawei has still not acknowledged its existence.
That is remarkable because until now Huawei has released a Lite version of its flagship every year. In the past, this variant often appeared even before the flagship itself. For example, the Huawei P20 Lite was in stores last year in early March, while the P20 only appeared a month later. In anticipation of the Huawei P30 Lite, we will put the latest rumors in a row for you.
Why has Huawei not yet revealed the P30 Lite?
The manufacturer himself, of course, keeps the jaws stiff together, but we can think of some reasons why the announcement takes a little longer. For example, it is fairly understandable that Huawei does not want to put the P30 Lite next to its two very best smartphones. In addition to the P30 and P30 Pro, the entry-level model is not particularly impressive.
However, revealing earlier is also difficult, considering Huawei’s busy planning of recent months. The company has already released several other affordable smartphones. The Huawei Y7 (2019), the Huawei P Smart (2019) and the new P Smart Plus recently appeared . Especially with the latter, which has a suggested retail price of more than 300 euros, there is a lot of overlap.
What does the Huawei P30 Lite look like?
As in previous years, the P30 Lite probably has a design that is almost identical to its larger, more expensive brothers. Drained images show a large 6.2-inch screen, with a resolution of 2312 by 1080 pixels. Only at the top is a small notch for the 32-megapixel selfie camera. The image does not continue in the side like on the P30 Pro but is flat like on the P30.
Of course, some adjustments were made to keep the price low. The fingerprint scanner, for example, is not on the screen, but on the back. Plus: in contrast to the P30 Pro, the Lite does have a headphone connection.
How many cameras does the Huawei P30 Lite have?
In addition to the 32-megapixel selfie camera, the P30 Lite is said to have three cameras at the rear. There is a primary camera of 24 megapixels, which is supported by a depth sensor and a wide-angle lens of 8 megapixels. The depth sensor is used for a bokeh effect in portrait mode, while you take wider pictures with the wide-angle lens.
Unfortunately, the P30 Pro’s telescopic zoom lens is missing. You can zoom in, but only with digital zoom. Try to get your image closer from far away, so, unfortunately, it is a lot less sharp.
What are the specifications of the Huawei P30 Lite?
According to sources, the specifications of the device are very similar to the Huawei P Smart (2019), which appeared in the United States earlier this year. The most important specifications at a glance.
- 6.2-inch screen with full HD resolution
- Three cameras on the back, 32-megapixel cameras on the front
- Kirin 710 chip with 4GB memory
- 128GB of expandable storage
- Runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI skin
- Equipped with a fingerprint scanner on the back
- Battery capacity 3340 mAh, supports fast charging
What is the expected retail price and release date of the P30 Lite?
When Huawei finally unveils the P30 Lite, it remains a bit of a mystery. In any case, it can no longer take very long. In some Asian countries, the company already sells the Huawei Nova 4th, a device that has the same hardware as the P30 Lite. If we have to guess, then a Huawei P30 Lite release in the second half of April is the most obvious.
We are already reasonably certain about the price. According to generally reliable sources, the Huawei P30 Lite will cost 369 euros. That is exactly as expensive as the P20 Lite with its release. It may sound a bit pricey for a ‘budget variant’, but keep in mind that Huawei smartphones fall in price relatively quickly. The P20 Lite can now be found for less than 200 euros.
