9to5mac discovered this by diving into the code of the most recent beta of iOS 12.2 that appeared last night. This contains indications that Apple is preparing the iPhone’s software to support AirPower. That would also be about time because Apple unveiled the charger at the same time as the iPhone 8 and iPhone X at the end of 2017.

That would not only mean that the charger will be launched during the keynote, but also that the iOS 12.2 update will appear that day.

In addition to references to the wireless charger, the beta also contains information about two new iPad models that are supported from iOS 12.2.

AirPower and new iPads?

If we look at all the rumors, it is almost impossible that these are the iPad 2019 and the iPad mini 2019, which will probably also see the light of day during the keynote.
