Samsung is gradually upgrading its most important devices to Android 9.0 (Pie). Since this weekend, the latest Android version is available for the Samsung Galaxy A9, Galaxy A7 (2018) and Galaxy A6. Various cheaper devices will be updated in the coming months.
Android Pie update for Samsung Galaxy A9, A7, and A6
Various readers let Golobal Tech know that three Samsung smartphones are currently being upgraded to Android Pie. It is first of all about the Galaxy A9, the striking device with four cameras on the back, which appeared at the end of last year. The Pie update introduces One UI, the new Android skin from Samsung.
Even if you have a Galaxy A7 (2018), you can (soon) get started with Android Pie. The update is only available for Vodafone A7 devices at the time of writing, but will soon be available for unbranded devices.
Finally, Samsung started the roll-out of Pie for the Galaxy A6, a cheaper device that also appeared last year. It is important to know that for the Galaxy A6 Plus, a slightly larger powerful phone, a Pie update is not yet available. That too must follow soon.
More about Android Pie and One UI
With Android 9.0 (Pie) and One UI, the phones are equipped with the latest software. Among other things, the update adds a night mode that gives the display warmer colors in the evening, which is more comfortable for your eyes. Previously, Samsung already released an Android Pie update for the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. The Galaxy Note 9, S8 and S8 Plus now also run on Pie. The Galaxy A8 (2018) was updated last week.
The Galaxy A9 was released late last year with a suggested retail price of 599 euros, but nowadays you get less than 400 euros at home. The Galaxy A7 (2018), which – just like the new S10 and S10 Plus – has three cameras at the rear, costs just over 200 euros. The Galaxy A6 is the cheapest phone for the couple and you get around 180 euros at home.
