Tip: This is how you use the Spotify sleep mode

Spotify sleep mode

Spotify has finally been put to sleep. Now it’s easier to fall asleep while listening to music or podcasts. This is how it works.

Spotify sleep mode is available

Spotify users have had to wait a long time, but the popular music app has finally gotten its own sleep mode. With a sleep mode, you switch on a timer as soon as you are in bed. When the time is up, the music will stop and you will hopefully sleep.

A sleep timer is a standard part of audio apps, but in a different way, Spotify has waited a long time with it. Many people listen to podcasts or quiet music to fall asleep, but then you don’t want to wake up later when a new song or another podcast suddenly starts.

This is how you use the Spotify sleep timer

  1. To use the sleep timer, complete the following steps in the Spotify app:
  2. Play music or a podcast;
  3. Tap the three dots at the top right to open the menu;
  4. Select ‘Timer for sleep mode’;
  5. In the new screen, you choose how long the sleep mode should be.

You can choose from 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes an hour or until the end of the song. When the time is up, the music is cut off brutally.

If you have set a sleep timer, you will see it in the same place as in step 3. Next to ‘Timer for sleep mode’ you will see how long the timer will last. Tap on it and scroll down to find ‘Turn off timer’. Press it to switch off the sleep mode again.
